I Was looking for a fairly simple vintage dress watch for last 6 months. Ideal steel case gold alternate Arabic indexes sword or dagger hands. Had seen quite a lot of attractive longines. nearly nearly went for a 12.68z, and just got a 13322 instead. As others say the case back medallions are often awesome. Really liked the recent flagship heritage 60 th anniversary limited edition but sub-second is not quite neat enough.

However I gave up trying to get a nice steel case one, and went for 9ct gold. Just happened to get an Omega which looked great but also about double the price.

In the U.K. the Dennison cases for Omegas were apparently identical to those latterly produced for Longines.

For 1950 to 1968 as to dials on design it’s a draw for me. Save where longines Both have some fantastic options. I won’t pretend to know enough about movements, but I wonder about materials which is my second question.

in my search I found just as many horrible re dials of both brands

1 What is parts availability like for 50s 60s longines?

2 On a Longines 12.68z in a 9 ct case would dial furniture be gilt or gold? Omega 13322 In gold case mostly it is gold I believe.

Fell for the dial and the lugs.
VERY unique. Are the lugs articulated? They look like they might be, with a pin or screw through at least the lower lug. If I'm not mistaken, that went out of fashion in roughly the 1930s or so, which makes the condition of that equally unique dial very special.

Yes, there’s a pin holding both lugs but it’s coming out a bit on the lower one. And yes, it’s very typical of the 1930s, it’s a style I’ve always liked, thanks for the kind words.

New hydroconquest in 43mm, HUGE wears like a 46 lol. The ceramic bezel, not too crazy about the crown guards... wish I would have gotten the 41mm, oh well.
