Polerouter Date

Received my new (to me) Polerouter Date today.

It's cosmetically in great condition and also keeping great time so far. It will be going in for a service soon which should keep it running well for the foreseeable future.

I now understand the obsession...the gently twisted lugs, gleaming chapter ring, tastefully part italicised text and dauphine hands just ooze class from a by-gone era.

The size for me is also ideal as I have always struggled with skinny wrists and is the reason why I sold my ceramic Rolex Submariner as it was just too big.

Now the question is: do I source an original crystal with the magnifying cyclops or keep the existing aftermarket one without?

Also this is my second vintage pick up in the last few days. It might be becoming a bigger problem...

I also checked the serial number on the back of the watch.

It states the following:

869111 /01
2358773

This serial number is earlier than the serial number on the Polerouter app for this reference which states a starting number of 2358816.

looks really nice, congrats.

always a nice bonus to have the original crystal, not a deal breaker without. Wouldn't hurt to find one at some point. I can't tell if the crown is orig or not?

@CafeRacer created the website and app, I believe he's just using the earliest known serial for each ref, if yours check out, then maybe it's the new starting serial #......

Nice...Original Crystal is pretty hard to source. This like the crowns was a change out part. I wouldn't loose sleep over it. Tell your pup not to worry. Enjoy!

Looks great! I hear you on the skinny wrists, I am in the same boat. This size works well for you.

Original crystal has been ordered, as well as a vintage blue leather strap. I will post pictures once they are both fitted.

Looking forward to getting this back from servicing once sent to be worn regularly.

How does one order an original Polerouter crystal?

Maybe I should have said 'sourced' rather than 'ordered'.

From someone on the UG Polerouter FaceBook group who is also a member of the forum. Happy to provide further details.

Original crystal locked down so this is gonna be a keeper. Is the crown original? Nice buy

Certainly is a keeper! Also happy to say the crown is original.

I will post more pictures after it's being serviced.

Are you sure that you will get an original with the logo etched in the center, to me it looks like a generic crystal...

The one currently on the watch is a generic crystal but a signed original is on the way!

I will post a picture when it is back from servicing with the new, original, crystal fitted.

I have just picked up a new strap today as well - a vintage blue pig skin from Atelier Romane. I think it pairs quite nicely with the Polerouter Date.
