I believe movement numbers higher than 8525xxxx are 2500D movements in the Seamaster PO, can anyone expand on this by providing serial number ranges for the 2500 A, B & C movements?

I believe only C and D movements were ever used in the first generation PO's?

It is talked about here, some people giving serial numbers and Archer looking it up in the Omega database if you want to see some serial number ranges.

I heard the same thing with the general consensus of 852XXXXX being the D movements. You can also get a general idea by the date wheel, but they could in theory be swapped out. I have a 85285805 which has the D movement. The only 100% way to be sure is to look at the movement, there should be a 2500D marking on it.

Date wheel differences for those wondering.

Great stuff! Thanks for that! I had heard that the "1" font on the date dial had the serif on the D and sans serif on the Cs - it's great to see a pic of the dial wheels side by side. 👍👍
