I spoke to a dealer in Perth... March (Scotland) & we were talking about older POs he told me that there
were POs bezels coatings that had been applied by apple but Omega had to switch due to demand
outstripping supply or something ? IE apple or a subsidiary of apple could not keep up ?

Ah. No. I don't think thats the LMLE because it's not so much the ceramic alone but the whole liquidmetal technology, which has been used since on other models, but not at the time

I ended up getting mine from Spain and got lucky, customs didn't charge. Im over in Los Angeles. I agree these do come up from time to time but lately less frequently.

How much were these new? And what's the going rate now?

I think they started right at 6g and then moved fairly fast to 7 g.... And that's about the range now depending on condition box papers etc.

At its height I've seen it command up to 9g

This watch was and is never one that I ever imagine selling... But the market is interesting to watch...
You're looking at a watch that was a boutique exclusive and therefore never offered at discount...
At a time when paying full MSRP for an Omega was unheard of...fast forward 5 years, and Boutique and wholesale (ADs) now both have to answer to one man...
Discounts at Any AD are about to get much more stringent ....

The value of the LM will grow exponentially in my opinion once the bottom is established on the 8500 PO...

What do you mean by "bottom is established"?

And also what do you mean by discounting being more stringent? I don't mean to hijack but very curious about the current landscape for this watch.

I think the 8500 is at bottom and so is the smp cx since the smp300 came in and was.Bond branded all the other subs have lost value. Specially on gray market and second hand. Once the fever is down on that we'll see it.ckme back.

You sure this was a boutique exclusive? I could have sworn seeing one for sale in London jewellers and was pissed I did not jump in it years ago and had to pick one up in resale market. I will need to check my warranty card but think it is from an AD but need to confirm.

Yeah I also Remember a bunch of them appearing on gray market fairly fast for a LE which is what brought up the price so fast from the original

The Bottom of the PO8500 in my opinion reflects the price on the used/grey market...
if they remain in the 4k range, it will keep this from commanding too high of a price...

but there will be more of a watch dog like approach to AD discounting...
with the boutique roll out gaining more and more steam, there will be less tolerance for Omega competing with itself...
The days of 20% discount will be ending soon enough...

As far as "boutique exclusive"...
As with everything, there is the word from the boutiques, and there's the truth...
The official word was that it was a boutique exclusive (at least in north America)
but this is likely as 'official' as the pre-sold Snoopy...

That ebay listing was offensive to my eyes!! Why all the stupid colour!!

Probably why it didn't sell. That ad didn't really illustrate the best of the watch and secondly it's in London which is a smaller market than the U.S.

The price is not off, I would certainly not sell mine for less than that. Again I really think that the smp300 fever is really affecting all sea masters right now.

Though I like paying the discounted rates, the managed pricing will be better for Omega if they want to match Rolex in resale price market.

Can't wait to see if I can get my hands on one of the pre sold snoopy's. I still remember all of the boutiques saying how few dsom there will be, then same for the GSOM, now will be interesting to see how it plays out for the snoopy.

A lot of people seem to be letting go of the gsom. I wonder how the new dsom variations will do
