After looking up model after model and checking specs and looks of the modern divers currently offered, I as well as many others have easily figured out the limited edition liquid metal Planet Ocean is probably the best one made to date. Glossy dial, glossy liquid metal bezel, 2500 smaller movement and built like a tank. I figured the only way to find one was to locate a small mom and pops jewelry store that has one sitting on their shelf and simply don't know it. So I began checking off and calling all authorized dealers in the United States from the Omega website. I called about 30 shops from Hawaii to Tennessee before giving up. A few said we will look in stock and call our dealer before getting back to you. I don't want to get my hopes up but, I just got a call back from one shop that said the dealer may have located one store which has one. He verified the Reference number again and said he will call me back next week with more info. And the waiting begins...
You can play with mine when we meet either on the 21st or on May 11th I'll let you know how I got it....a little secret called Kringkily. (George)
Haha! I was thinking, IF this actually works out... How can you actually wear it. I'd be afraid of getting it dirty :-p
Not at all, I wear it all the time, to the gym, to the beach, on Nato leather and steel. It is well built and does not feel precious at all. Look at the What are you wearing today thread and you'll see it plenty of times on my wrist, and I think even on top of my dog. Great watch!
Such a perfect diver, it's got it all going for it. Still, I'd be afraid to ever wear it being so rare LOL
Gyat Dayum the LE PO is gorgeous. I never understood why they never followed up with a non-LE black faced Liquid Metal PO.
Found this on my phone... From yesterday actually. It's also, I believe, yhe only modern seamaster that is worth more or the same now second hand as it did brand new.
@Frunkinator, there's a guy on this forum named Sergio. he Looooves his POLMLE. maybe he will drop by and post some pics! /sarcasm It is a beauty of a watch!
Cough cough... Just missed this one! http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs...quidmetal-le-$6-000-liquid-metal-1384026.html
These come up for sale on various forums fairly frequently, keep an eye on watchrecon.com, but be prepared, these don't come cheap. I would agree, the finest Planet Ocean to date.
Good luck in the search!!! I was looking for the same watch recently and was super lucky to find it here in Germany. I paid 4000€ for it from the owner of an AD who bought it for himself, and kept it in his safe without using it. Really glad with the purchase! Go for it!!!
Could still be a few sitting around out the back of mixed dealers that do not sell Omega anymore. Posted a thread a while back about one chain in Australia that still had plenty of older Omega,s in the vault that had not sold Omegas for a while.
