Hello and welcome. It is certainly cool ...you might want to share a bit more if you want to hear back more.
Don't know what i can share more. I bought it as a defect watch and realized that there is a low serial number on mouvement. Brought it to the Omega Museum (20min by car ) for examination and got that extract.
Well done This kind of stories is what we all love to read here. Good to know you’re 20min away from Omega - I am actually living only 30 min away we might meet one day if you want
WHAT DO WE THINK?... i think you are a lucky guy. do you know anymore about the history of the watch? when was it last serviced etc? it looks like its been serviced. dial, hands possibly bezel
Right what u say. i read the extract exactly how it says MOVEMENT = Prototype nothing else ... if it would have been delivered to COMEX or Custeau or something similar it would be stated in the special remarks.
You have to read all: Model: Seamaster 600 "PloProf" - inverted That is special though...not just the movement!
I don't think that it was serviced. Special about that one is probably the "Inverted" in combination with the prototype mouvement. It's not a cousteau or comex. Jim was faster
@JimJupiter a inverted plop is nothing special as the dial feet are symetrical. u just have to put another date wheel and done. @trash_gordon it def was serviced as the bezel lock buttin is a new service one also i think for a prototype it should wear a MK1 and not MK2 dial as this is already standard production dial also the bezel should be imho a mk1 and not a later one. My inverted mk2
A inverted is marked with upside down logo inside the case. Otherwise it's a normal one. My case has upside down markings. Could be that they tested with later execution to do right handed ones. Show me another extract with that mentioned on it.
Never heard that either. Inversion is not uncommon and just required a date wheel swap an omega standard part number. Can we see the case and movement? There is some debate about delivery of inverted models only being special order or done after delivery though. AFAIK all watches have the same case. You just flip the dial and swap the date wheel which is aligned differently.
