Sold for $3,033 USD with 75 watchers at the end. All the signs were there. Seller from Kazakhstan who joined last month. Master Chronometer, International Warranty and Pictogram cards were all blank and missing the holographic watermark. Reported multiple times by OF members and eBay did nothing. It will be interesting to see if the seller disappears from eBay in a few days. Hopefully the buyer paid using a method that will enable him to get a refund.

Doesn't eBay have the 'authenticity guarantee' on any watch sale over $2K?

That's what I thought, but when the authenticity guarantee applies there is always a blue banner at the upper right in the listing. Unless I missed it, there was no reference to an authentticity guarantee on this listing that I recall seeing. The auction starting price was $1,200. I'm not thoroughly familiar with how the authenticity guarantee works, so I'm not sure whether there is a loophole in the rules that the seller was able to exploit.

I just looked at the original listing. It says that the watch is covered by eBay's Money Back Guarantee, but there is nothing in the listing that says anything about authentication. As I stated in my prior post, there is usually a blue banner at the upper right of the listing when authentication applies and there is nothing in the shipping section of the listing that says anything about the watch being shipped first to eBay's authentication service.

I think authenticity service is limited to certain countries where they have local contractors to perform it so they don’t do it if the seller is outside those regions

If correct, that would explain the lack of authentication for this watch. Thanks.

First time I reported it I got the "We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made by a customer service agent."

So I reported it again:
"Some of the world's leading Omega collectors know this is a fake. Why don't you?".

I only hope the final bidder was the shill and got caught with it at the end of the action.

I know I should rise above it, but I absolutely detest the way ebay's patrickj-7954 is giving out BS about now being blind in one eye, like it takes two of them to spot an outrageous fake when it's in front of you. Shame on him for dragging the issue into his attempt to sell garbage to an unsuspecting public.
