Believe it or not, but my quest is still going on. My heartbeat told me that I was almost there with this one:

Too much going on to be a dress watch in my opinion but Longines has been releasing great reissues in the past 2-3 years.

@billyblue , I admire your patience! If you're still looking, I'd vote for the Lange 1815 like several have. While they come in 3 sizes (36, 38.5 & 40mm) depending on 'generation' of 1815's, my preference is for the Pt 1815 in 36mm. In many ways a classical dress watch.

Have you also considered FP Journe's Chronometre Bleu, or VC's older Patrimony Traditionnelle? Nice review on Hodinkee. The Pt Traditionnelle is very lovely in the metal with the grey dial.
