A look at the movement will help and may also help you decide if you want to throw cash at this piece. Given the condition of the dial someone has already been inside.

By "parts" I suspect you meant the indexes on the dial?

These will not be available as spare parts and the only solution is to either find a donor dial or donor watch, or a replacement dial.

The model is just an "Omega" designated "2620". Before Seamaster/Genève/Constellation there were no specific model names, with the exception of specific issues like Centenary and earlier vintage models, Foibos, Arctos etc.

Yes I mean indexes on the dial. Sorry

How can I find a donor ? It is very disappointing the idea that I destroy this watch after so many years on my grandfather's hand...

Do you have an idea how much will cost to find a donor watch or dial?

    None at all.

Two suggestions, in order of preference.

One. See if a local jeweller (artisan, not shopkeeper) can fabricate new markers from 18K gold.

Two. Search eBay for watches with identical markers, be prepared to spend time on this, any where from a day to an eternity.

From the 12 million serial number on the movement the watch is around 1950-1951.

For the price offered for these ones, you'd have to think very carefully.

Next two are from the same seller:

I'm sure other members will have their own views - yes it is your grandfather's watch. And yes it is very sentimental to you. At these prices I'm seeing though, and with no idea as to whether these dials are geniune or not, it's hard to justify the money for a whole watch just for the dial.

EDIT - just noticed that the markers here are slightly thicker than your grandfather's watch - my apologies. That said, searching on eBay still seems to indicate prices of $125USD just for a badly scratched dial...that is not with the same markers.

No words for your efforts !!!!
    Thank you.

The one is about 600 and the others 3k!!!
Condition counts for sure but is a large gap.
I ll try the cheaper and I ll ask if he wants an offer for the dial.

    Thank you again
