Please help me with my father's Omega :)

Hello! I need your help please. My father died last year and, knowing my love for Omega watches, he left me his.
I've looked everywhere but I cannot find it anywhere. I can find similar ones, but not the specific watch.

Here are three pictures of it. Can anyone help me? 😀

A bit of background : my father was born in 1940, he received this watch as a gift from his uncle for his confirmation.
In Italy that would be when you are between 12 and 14 years of age.
It still has its original box, black leather with a green "velvet" interior, and also the outer cardboard box, which is ivory white with Omega printed on it in gold.
Unfortunately, there are no papers.

In fact I had found that one, but as you can see on the face, the dial of my father's watch has only dots, what does that mean?

Are there different "sub-models" of the same model? 🤔

Pearled index markers and numbers/indexes are embossed on the dial. Meaning not removable.

Movement looks clean.

May not find another. Case design with a variety of dial designs. Will only find if someone with the same case and dial posts it online.

Oh wow. I had no idea there could be many different dial designs for the same model. Thank you for all the info! 🙂

Do you happen to know what the two numbers at the top side of the interior of the back of the case mean? They are 40 9.
