Please help identify and value vintage De Ville

Hi all,

I'm new here and inherited this De Ville from a family relative.

Not much information about when it might have been made/bought.

The number 4365 or 1365 seems to be inscribed on the back.

It looks like a pressure fitted case back, and I wasn't sure how to open it without damaging the back (I don't have any special tools).

I would probably look to sell it.

Any help identifying and valuing it would be appreciated.

Hi John,
take it to a watchmaker to have the battery replaced. Ask him if you can quickly take a few pictures of the inside of the case back for the reference number and the movement for the caliber and serial when he has it opened. Pictures of the inside will certainly help the sale. Then, if it runs well, this might sell for roughly ~200-250$ I’d say. It’s not a particularly collectible ref or movement, but it’s still an Omega, you’ll find a buyer for it.

It’s a nice watch!
Keep it!
Get the battery changed and wear it!

The memory has more value than an actual selling price!

And please replace the worn out strap! It`s eak! to look at even with the bonus to know that the former owner passed away - my condolences for that!

Try looking around eBay for an idea of prices vs condition.
Best.
John.

Thank you to all who replied, I really appreciate the knowledgeable advice!

I decided to change the strap and battery and give it my daughter to wear (even though it's a man's watch, we think it will work for her as she's studying law).
