See that’s the problem lol. Looks terrible to me and I don’t have an eye for this stuff. Is it worth anything?

The only real advice to give is to return the watch (if you can), and next time, get advice before you purchase.

Return it and start over. If you don't want to take the time to develop your eye, buy a recommended watch on the forum.

Well all this is embarrassing. I’m going to look to return and hopefully get my money back. If anyone has advice on a $1,500 dollar range watch pls let me know.

Hope you get your money back! Stick around here, you will learn a lot if you like Seamasters, and there are a few for sale in the link above. They will be accurately described, which is way more than you can day for most other sites.

Members here do a good job at self-policing on the private watch sales area.

Dont be embarassed it happens regularly. The Noob tax. We have all paid it at least once I'm sure. Chrono does not have quite the buyer protection that EB does, but if you ask the seller nicely they may allow return.
Take your time, read the learn to Fish thread above, find a watch you like and spend some time learning about it, researching in on OF.
And ask first members are happy to help. Welcome!

If the seller specifically mentioned the condition of the dial but failed to disclose that the dial had been refurbished, refinished or specifically said ‘original dial' the you should be fine for a return/reund

Here is a good example from Private Sales- with arabic numbers- you can find nice vintage Seamasters from 50s and 60s reasonably priced from fellow collectors for less than 1000, often way less. Just keep looking.

(No connection to the seller BTW)

If you see a black vintage dial just start with the thought that it’s a redial and try to prove yourself wrong. Are you going to return it? I thought one would be more apt to find the real deal on Chrono 24 but then again I never bought anything there.
