    Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and would like some advice if possible. Would anyone be able to identify this watch?

    http://www.austinkaye.co.uk/Gents-Omega-steel-manual-on-strap-2648-p.aspx

I have had a look online to see if I could find any information, but I have come up short so far. I cannot find any Omegas from the same period with the same dial or backing.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    It's a modern interpretation of a 1940's dial.

Hands look to be original, but probably relumed. Crown is a modern replacement. Case was polished to within an inch of its life. My guess is that the movement is a 30T2SC from the mid-forties.

Not a bad restoration, but not worth anywhere near US$1,000. Should be able to get a nice all original piece for less than half that figure on the OF Sales Forum.

As a general rule of thumb avoid sellers like Austin Kaye. Virtually everything they sell is a redial or relume, or is overly polished.
