    Hi All,

Today i met my friend who showed me this watch. I am not expert but I know it’s Ed White and pre-moon. While I try to learn more about it, I thought I will ask on the forum about its authenticity and price range. We both were not sure about it.

    Thanks in advance.

It's not an Ed White it's an early 2998.

Dial is correct but has some damage (and the lume concerns me slightly) but appears otherwise original (and valuable) as is the bezel and movement. Hands look replaced but a valuable watch nonetheless.

Thanks for the details and link to speedmaster101. Found this http://www.moonwatchonly.com while I was reading Speedmaster101. Given I do not know the difference between Ed White and 2998-2, should I go ahead and buy this book? Or is there anything else out there that I should be reading?

I think everyone here would agree the MWO book is well worth the price. Informative and beautiful. The photos alone make it a great coffee table book. The book will definately help you distinguish one Speedy from the next.

That’s a stellar watch. Is there a story behind it?

Thanks for the feedback. Not much story, he acquired it from someone he knew around 3-4 years ago. Once I bought up the vintage watch topic he started talking about this piece. I asked him to check the "Jewelry and Watches Valuation Days in California" from Sotheby's starting from Aug 22 to Aug 25 in Monterey but he was not interested. So I thought I can take some pictures and at least get feedback from the forum.
