    Hi All,

I have recently bought this watch of EBay and since this is my first Vintage Omega, I hope I made the right decision

Can you please advise if this is genuine as I paid close to $2000 AUD for it

I know that the strap is an aftermarket product.

    Thanks
    Michael

Unfortunately not a good example since the dial is refinished and the movement looks quite rough.

When you say the movement looks rough Does this mean it's not genuine or does it need a watchmaker to open and inspect and how can I tell if it is an original

    Thanks

Wrong movement beside redial. Should be cal. 561 instead of 564. This is usually called a franken watch, only worth the parts (if any is usable). Best to return for refund if you can.

    Oh no,

Spent two months looking for a vintage pie pan

It was working fi e and keeping time so I thought it was good

However there is a bit of play in the watch seems like the dial is loose and the seller advised me that it may have become loose in transit and only need the two screws to be tightened

    Will contact seller ASAP

    Thank you for your help

    Regards
    Michael

Spotting a redial is hard, but checking out the case and movement is easier. Use the reference number on the case back, you can check the Omega Vintage Database to get more info. You can also check the serial number against online list to date the movement. You'd find this movement is too new for this case.

For Constellations, this is the best online resource: http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com.

And you can always vet a watch here first before you buy. I'm sure a lot of members would be more than happy to help. Good luck next time.
