    Morning folks,

In my ongoing adventures as a clueless buffoon wandering around asking questions, I found myself this week at the press breakfast for Farer's new 37mm hand-wound collection, along with actual press from GQ, et al.

A few early thoughts here, which I will follow up with a review once they have a loan watch for me to borrow.

Interesting to see what's happening in the sub-£1000 mechanical space, and that good quality watches can come out of Switzerland without needing to cost an arm and a leg.

Really glad to see a new hand wound seriesof watches. I don’t know why there are not more of them.

Personally I am encouraged to see good (not bs) micro brands succeeding with manual movements. Everyone who wrings hands over millenials not being into watches should take heart.

They’re really cool. Great size too.
36 - 40mm gets my vote for new watches. Hudson is my favourite.

Same here DT - the depth of colour is fantastic in daylight.

I like the Blue, the other two are a bit to jazzy for my taste's..

Am sure I would have thought all three were fantastic, if someone was spoon feeding me Eggs Benedict and several Espresso's

They are jazzy for sure. But it is good to see a micro on the right track with the hand winders. Definitely serving a market with little options. I like them.

The Lansdell is a tad bizarre ??……Green, & Pale Blue, with accents of Yellow & Red,…do not, a happy palette, make…

Is it intended for the visually challenged ?

If you go through their collections, there's always a slightly "out there" model... which isn't normally to my taste, but I'm told they sell well.

I think if I was allowed to tweak a model, I'd love to see the Hudson with the subdial layout of the Stanhope in white print, with a red or white sub second hand.

But hey, which of us wouldn't like to mess with someone else's designs. :D

Good looking watches. They all have a lot of colours going on, but some blend together better than others.
The Landsell jarred me with its central starburst, which gave me some optical distortions.

Re" Don't mention the M word.....

You mean "Micro Brand" or "Manual"

PS: The Ivy is in Covent Garden is it not? ....Just a nit. :D

They're not a fan of being called a "Micro Brand"... which I can see... it conjures up images of Instagram, and ident-i-kit kickstarter watches.

PS: The Ivy is a chain. ;)

Looking forward to the full review. The blue has to be my favourite of the trio.

    Thanks @frederico

I'm getting quite a lot of brands asking to come on to the podcast and be interviewed about their products, and their companies... and I've decided that's not a direction I want to take things in.

Adding a blog gives me the opportunity to work with brands - to write up events/launches and share them, and to borrow watches and write reviews - whilst keeping the podcast all about collecting.

There are some great people that own/run/work for watch brands, but ultimately they have product to sell, and who want's to hear a recording, or read an article that's a sales pitch? :cautious:

Did not know that. I’ve been to the one in CG quite a bit. The steak tartare and chips is to die for!

Wait a second Chris... Are you saying you don't want to become an "Influencer"? But you can get free watches! And sponsored by Dollar Shave Club! Imagine the perks! :::stirthepot::
