I purchased a Planet Ocean in oct 2012. Decided on the silicon strap as liked the look and though would be more comfortable to wear.
It looks like there is a design fault as the stitching is started to wear badly. With leather straps the stitching is normally recessed into the design.
On the silicon strap the stitching stands proud, hence getting caught.
Went back to original retailer and they wanted nothing to do with it, apart from sell me a new strap!!
Has anyone else had this problem?

One alternative, though not without cost, might be to take the strap to a shop that does minor clothing alterations and see what they would charge to restitch it by hand. They could recommend a durable thread and a small shop might be very reasonable.

Did you wear the strap in the water? Not sure those standup to use inthe water compared to the diving strap.

Sounds like a great idea. Nothing wrong with the band... it'd be a shame to let $0.05 worth of thread ruin it.
