For sale: serviced 18K pink gold cal. 156 chronograph in fair to good condition. The movement was overhauled earlier in 2016 (receipt available) and runs and functions fine. Beautifully aged original dial, with pink gold coloured dial furniture and a nice blue tachymetre scale that goes nicely with the blued chrono hands. The 37,5 mm (excluding the non-original crown) case shows wear and tear (the gold cap on the top pusher, a couple of small dings and scratches). I'll let the pictures do the talking. Price: €1750 ( boils down to £1385 or $1995) net to me including worldwide insured shipping. Returns if misrepresented are no issue. View attachment 236789 On the wrist (first one was from before the overhaul, I'll include that strap)
The watch is very nice, I have a couple of 156. But the dial itself raises some ? To me... Are there concentric circles in the subdial?
I am listing this watch as having an original dial. I am not selling it when it has a refinished dial. I've asked @LouS and some others to chip in.
Yes, the flat subdials also raised my brow. I don't think the constant seconds subdial is usually typed with that 20, 40, 60 design.
2 out of 3 asked have seen flaws and mentioned potential old redial. I feel pretty bad for having it put up for sale. Pity for the buyer who thought he had bought a nice piece. Pity myself for investing €200 to get the movement serviced. My concerns were with the case, not the dial (the hue and sharp & colourful stuff makes it look lovely), which is the first apparent redial I adored.
Thanks guys. I will leave it to the original buyer first if he still wants the watch. Poor guy is out for the weekend, only to find a pile of frantic PM's in his inbox when he logs in again.
Hats off to Bart, what he just did shows a lot of class. And I still think it is a very nice watch with a very nice dial and the buyer should decide for himself if he wants it.
