Picked up the white dial today, it will be a great daily

Wonderful collection. I didnt know there was a blue saphire variant. Thats wild. Whats your initial impressions with the Daniel Craig?

The white speedy is my most wearable speedy.

1. Thinner than the Mitsu mod and ed white.
2. Way way more accurate
3. Lighter than the gold speedy (lets face it you can’t wear that speedy often, i only wear it for anniversaries)
4. Way thinner than the snoopy and way more comfortable… the snoopy strap sucks.

On top of the above, the white feels like a level above the black dial in that the indices are applied and dial is glossy not matte. the matte dial just looks like plastic… this lacquer dial can be confused for enamel/porcelain.

Great release by omega, they could have ruined this release but they absolutely nailed it.

Sorry I didn’t respond for awhile, i wanted to wear it for a week straight before answering.

You should try the 50th Ann black enamel dial speedmaster, the dial is amazing and the watch is even thinner than the 3861 and is 100m WR.

Hey, which specific model? Is it still a moonwatch or a different type of speedmaster?

Oh wow, my mind is a bit blown that there was a moonwatch with a non 1861 back then… what on earth is a 3201 movement.

What a cool watch.
Based off of a Frederick Piguet automatic chronograph movement. It used to be in the Royal Oak Chrono and Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chrono.

That’s really cool.

I mean as a daily watch I’d want the 3861, it’s accurate, anti magnetic, hacks and easy to repair but from a collectibility standpoint, wow…

In essence it’s the 3303/3313 as seen in the Broad Arrow auto models minus the winding rotor. Quote a perverse solution really when you think about it since it was designed as an auto movement. It’s a super thin movement in all its forms with column wheel and one or two other high end touches.

Removing the automatic isn't as unusual as you might think. If you look at the 7750 family, there's 2 variants that did the same thing - the 7760 and 7765.

And now you mention it, Omega have done it again for the Chronoscopes, those I think use a 9300/9900 minus rotor. It does make sense to use what you already have I guess, particularly when you are trying to lose depth, which in the case of the 9300 was considerable.

I coupled mine with the flat link bracelet from the steel 50th Apollo and it wears amazing, its my favorite moonwatch in my collection.

Crown & Caliber did a nice video about it,

Definitely a hidden gem.

Behind the Snoopy, I think the white dial speedy is the best in the current lineup.
