Hello All - First time contributor here. Thank you everyone for your contributions to raising the level of discussion related to the vintage watches. I was the winner of this lot at Phillips, and I thought I would share a handful of photos with the group. Happy holidays!

but. . you are a watch collector ? you actually like and collect watches ? according to OF i thought the only people who bought at Phillips are money launderers ?

Yes, real watch collector here. I collect and seldomly let go of pieces. I'm not in the vintage watch world to make money. I'm just a collector that may have spent too much because the watch really spoke to me. Reality is often much less interesting than people think.

It was definitely clear that it was a joke. Sometimes people get carried away with theories about auctions. Honestly, it is really easy to bid via phones, computers and apps, so I'm not surprised that sometimes people will make mistakes and pay too much.

Omega Forums?

yay - my post was also supposed to be a troll joke - I’ve been here long enough not to take it all too seriously anymore 😁

Back to the topic, you’ve had a great start here. 👍 The place is called OF but you’ll have a lot of fun here even if Omega is not the center of your interest 😉

I keep coming back to this thread to look at that watch some more. Sigh.

Me too. Sometimes pictures capture more details than the naked eye can see. I'm particularly happy about the intact and even lume, which even glows consistently under a blacklight. I'm not sure why so many of these watches have very dark lume from aging.

There’s one on c24 at the moment. Seller claims it sold for 38k euro at Phillips. Not quite as nice as but the dealer is “only” asking 24k euro for it...

Interesting... Attached is the link for the recent Phillips Zenith sales. https://www.phillips.com/artist/13091/zenith

The only non-tropical A384 among those listed as sold was the above near perfect example, with original blue jelly still on the case. It went for 40k CHF.

That browniness is ridiculously homogeneous...

Not a huge fan of the case, but I bet that it is gorgeous in real life.
from a plan view i get what you mean but the side profile of the case is rather nicely and aggressively styled.
