    Hello my young friends ;)

Here's the latest that I grabbed this morning in a pawn shop. I won't tell you the ridiculous price. It's a 71. So I guess the chrono hand is wrong. It's in overall incredible condition. Dial is gorgeous, hands not cracked, Bezel short of new... Can anyone tell me if there was no accent on tachy on this 145022-71
Pics are much worse than reality. Happy I am young padawans because, because, cherry on the cake, it's my birth year.

Bezel looks correct. As far as I know, ~70 onward lost the accent over the E before they re-appeared about 20 years later. I'm sure someone knows for sure.

Also, what chrono hand should this have? The blade?

Pretty sure this is the triangular chrono hand. As it's an early 1971 (and not 72 as a mentionned before) may be there are some exception? I know I'm dreaming.

The chrono hand is indeed the wrong version, but I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding a correct flat-end to trade for...

let me explain the story in a few words.

The other day I met a guy at the flee market. I heard he was talking about watches to another guy. I couldn't help getting into the conversation. The guy happened to be and ex watchoolic. he told me that a few years ago he had to leave a dozen of watches in a pawn shop. He didn't really know how many were sold and how many remained. He told me there may be one or two speedies still there for about 10 years.
As he was broke, he didn't want (and probably hos wife too) touch another watch again and get caught in the matrix, and that he would go with me and get it for 2000 after finding the ticket correponding to the watches. The suprise would be in the series of the speedy and its condition as de couldn't quite remember what year it was.
I love this kind of series! still, it could have been a 105.

yes somehow I was dreaming of the guy showing me a 105 but I'm very happy because of my birth year and the condition. Very often you only have one of this factor. I feel lucky these days

Quick question, and a bit of a thread jack, if I may :)

When you go into these pawn shops, are watches sitting in the cases for everyone to see, or are they hidden somewhere in the back of the store and you have to know a secret hand shake in order to get to see them (as in, do you ask if they have any and they bring them out)?

After seeing this thread, went to 3 pawn shops around here (not expecting anything at all) and they had a buch of watches in display cases. No Omega's as I thought, but they had 2 Rolex's. When I asked to see one, I was told right away it's not real. I got a good chuckle out of that. That makes me think that even if there was a real Omega, they would not just be shown like that.
