Great watch! Has a nice warm lume.
Depending on the condition these go for 5000+ USD normally.
If you plan to sell it, do not have it serviced. The collector will then have a choice of how to service it.

I echo the above comment. If you plan to sell then don’t bother servicing it, you won’t recoup the money spent and it can, in fact, decrease the desirability. Collectors love untouched watches like this and demand would be high as it is.

we none of us know your circumstances and with that in mind i would move slowly until you are sure.

Sell or keep?

If you keep, then it could be simply to have it near you. Or you could recommission it and even wear it yourself (my wife wears a speedmaster) and you can consider a leather strap. As others suggest you could recommission it and gift it to a special person. You could also leave it untouched in a drawer you use frequently so you see it often.

if you sell, then as others have said it’s worth at least USD5000 and possibly a little more - the same amount if you service it, that is you will loose the service cost. A lot of the value is in the history and the originality.

I suggest if you sell it that you interview the buyer and sell it to an owner, not a profiteer, but that’s me.

what ever you decide, take your time.

I am sure I am not alone in wishing you the best with whatever you decide, and that most of us are happy to help and hear the story and what you decide.

I purchased it at Ben Bridge Jewelry in Seattle in 1971 or 72. I remember now that I ordered the two tone band special because I liked the look of it. Didn't realize it wasn't an Omega. Thank you for your help. Kinda want it to be original.

That is interesting. Every watch has a unique history. I agree you should keep it as is. I use Kelly Hunter as well. He serviced my 1970 Speedmaster as well. His price won't be significantly different than Nesbitts, and he has a fairly long wait time. However he does top notch work.

Is that a FSNN bezel.. a fuzz spot next to ninety? looks like maybe a well placed chip?

As the watch was returned to you, there must have been some continued relationship and emotional ties with your ex. If you share kids, it could be a special heirloom for one of them, tying together their parents history during a momentous event, said graduation.

As such i would consider keeping the hybrid bracelet, the way you gifted it, and the way he wore it for the subsequent 50+ yrs.

Just a service and smile every time you or they put it on.

Condolences on your loss, and congrats on your special memento,

Joe Band

My ex-husband passed and I now have his watch.

I gave it to him in I think 1971 or 1972 for graduation from the U if Washinton. His degree was in Aeronautics and Astronautics. He was also a private pilot. I thought It was the perfect gift. He was living in Mexico and died 3 years ago. Don't know the value. Anyone know what I have here?
I think its a 116900 Air-King is perfect for a pilot tho it depends on your pocket.

Now would be a good time to quit drinking. 😁

Don't bother... this is either a bot, or someone doing post farming...
I vote post farming, but at least it's a 'meaningful' post...anyone that would confuse burro and burrow doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground 😁

(credit where credit is due....I saw that line in the 'Tell me a Joke' thread, posted by @Archer)

Spoke with the real Jkbenn02 on instagram (well known Heuer Quartz repair dude). Hasn't used this account in years. Something is fishy.

Reported.
