Parts to Restore Seamaster

Looking for advice on where to source an Omega crown and crystal for a Seamaster. I want to get it in good shape to give my son as a wedding present. He was never into watches until after I gave him a vintage Chronostop when he graduated from pharmacy school. Now he loves everything Omega, particularly vintage. I’ve had this Seamaster for years; picked it up non-working from a friend who inherited it from his dad. Wore it for several years, then let my daughter wear it for a couple more. It was serviced along the way and unfortunately the original crown and crystal were replaced. It’s been sitting unused for several years now due to a cracked crystal and dislodged hand, and I want to take it back to more original condition and get it serviced so I can pass it along to my son on his big day.

I’ve tried several sources for a crystal but haven’t had any success. I’m hoping someone may have one they are looking to sell, or can point me in the right direction. Case is marked 145.005-67 as shown below.

I am not sure on the appropriate crown. Can someone tell me what fits this specific model? Also, any recommendations for sources would be much appreciated. Here’s a picture of the watch. What a great design!

On the Crown: Genuine Omega Crown Yellow Bestfit 8100/1074 http://www.ofrei.com/page_147.html
This is the current replacement crown. It may differ from the original.

I found one on eBay for the crystal: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-PX5043-Plexiglass-Crystal-145-005-/254029877245

People don't usually help find parts, but it sounds like a good cause. You should also find a local watchmaker and look into servicing the watch if it has been a while (5 to 10 years since you serviced it last). The watchmaker should be able to sort out the missing hand.

Good luck.

The crown should look like this:

The crystal should have a silver rehaute to be correct.

And, unfortunately, the dial on your watch is not original.

The OP watch is stainless steel, correct? Just wanted to note that crown & crystal will have different parts #and letters, depending on white (for stainless) or yellow for gold/gold-filled
It looked gold under the light. Was fixing it when you posted. I edited it with the correct part.

The original part number is 43069. Here is one on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-crow...193574?hash=item287d9deca6:g:UkQAAOSwVq9crpH5
You may be able to reuse the old silver ring.It looked gold under that light. I see is is stainless from the case back now.

The eBay one is for a gold plated watch. I think OP’s is stainless steel.

The silver rehaute is physically part of the crystal, not a separate piece, in my experience.

Helps if you mention where you are located, but

US - Otto Frei or Jules Borel

Can. - HW Perrin

UK - Cousins

You want a crown, stem, crystal and maybe a new 12 hr. hand

Give them the case reference number which is on the inside caseback

The original part number is 43069, or 069ST43069.

The 069ST43069 is the regular Speedmaster Pro crown. The crown Omega calls out for case 1450005 is 069ST43008.

The crystal is 063PZ5043, and the pushers were 086ST0021, but are discontinued, and replacements are 086ST0088.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Al
