Hello all,

I am trying to source an original Omega symbol etched plexiglass for my 1969 mechanical wind Dynamic.

Does anybody know the correct part number?

And, if possible, a supplier or weblink of where I can obtain please?

Thank you.

Your Watchmaker supplies you with that.

The watchmaker supplies what?

The crystal or the reference number?

😉

(OP will probably need a watchmaker for both though if it's a unicoc or monocoque case).

You'd need to provide the reference number of the watch.

And the case material! Everyone always leaves out the case material dammit!!!

Sorry for the rant - frustrating to have to ask for it nearly every time I try to help someone...😀

This is the watch. Not sure what the ref number or case is made of? Sorry, new to the world of vintage watches.

It's inside the case - most likely the crystal is 063PZ5083.

Anybody any idea where I can get an original Omega one without having to send the watch away? Any links? Had some really quite obscene quotes from local Omega approved places. My well respected old school local watchmaker has just got back to me and he cannot source an original, only after market.

Any way of getting Omega to send me one? Any tips? Or is it only approved places they deal with directly for spare parts? All I want is the part

Well, Omega's prices for crystals are obscene, so I'm not surprised the price you received is as well...

Only approved watchmakers can order. Unless you pay up you will have to have patience and keep looking...

My bad. I always seem to forget that critical detail.

Archer gave you THE answer. I was on the hunt for one a little while back and it honestly was difficult. I doubt you'll find it somewhere online and no Omega authorized source will simply sell you the crystal. You'll either have to periodically check sites like ebay, ask around and see if somebody has some old stock, or give it to somebody with a parts account. If you choose to go generic, I would retain the tension ring from the OEM crystal.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, seen this one but with import taxes I’d be looking at £160+ Weighing it up but seems a bit much, might just hold on.

PS notes for my Dynamic have the same crystal number that Al indicates

Think I might pass on that one for now. UK supplied would be better, don’t mention Brex**.

Gleave & Co have a generic glass at £6.95 that I will use as a temp measure before I can source an original at a better price. The search continues..

Try CousinsUK. You are going to need the case reference number from the inside. If you are getting the watch serviced anyway, have your watchmaker make the call to Cousins.

There is also one on Chrono24, for what looks to be a reasonable price, even if you add in the import taxes.

Now you started a 3. Thread about one crystal ? Members here even gave you links to crystals for sale . Why not just buy it and have it fitted ?
