Guys, all who have paid before May 9 now have their tool on the way (the rest will be sent within a week). I have sent to 8 different countries - let's see who’s the first to receive their envelope Despite instructed, only 20% of the payers have been able to write on their PayPal payments, which nickname they have on the OF , making it quite a puzzle to match PayPal deposit and OF'er = causing a little shipping delay, sorry. Anyway, I hope all will soon receive their tool - if not, then pm me, and I will check, if you are on the list as one of them I sent to (I have pictures of all the envelopes). Thank you all, including OF, and a special thanks to gemini4 for this thread (as stated earlier in the thread, I refunded gemini4 his money, but shortly after they came back with a note saying he would not accept this) and to Spacefruit, who was the first to speak good about the tool Feedback about the tool, good or bad, welcome. Thanks again. Paul
Some fun photos with my @Pahawi Opener. This has proved the single most important tool in my possession. i suppose this is the first public prototype. Both sides carrying prongs, very sightly different. Ahhh....the fame of the name... Fits perfectly - I spent hours testing it on all the different references. It might sound redundant now, but in the beginning, how else do you test for sure? In the company of the tools it (almost) replaces: Another practice fit: A big thank you @Pahawi !
One thing I notice. This tool carries weight, so that you do not have to press it on, the prongs find their own way into the slots. Because it is six pronged, the tool fits snugly and I can feel it bedding in securely - it has a certainty of fit, that is lacking in all other tools. While we all should be patient, in the real world sometimes we rush. With other tools, the seating is not so automatic, not so natural - I have to push the tool onto the watch. with this tool, all I have to do is allow the tool to fit in on its own weight. So far it has never slipped, failed to engage, or allowed me to damage a watch back through my own impatience or incompetence. This cannot be said of other openers. In my opinion, before any Speedy-Nerd buys MWO, they should buy this. Then buy MWO, obviously.
Thanks J., but you do pay for it, so….. I used this little project as a father/son (16 year old) thing – we’ve had some good hours with it, and he get a good share of the profit
Thanks William, so kind of you Yes, yours is a prototype and the only one with two sides. As I recall it, the difference is only 0,02 millimeter on the width of the teeth, making so little difference, that I decided to drop the “big” end of the tool and stick with the other. The tool now produced, is just a tad more tight on my 105.002 speedy, than on my 145.012’s, so there seem to be a small slot size difference between the references. Will be interesting to hear others experience on this, when they get the tools (if the tool will not slide into the slots, please check the slots are without any damage ). Thanks again. Paul
For those wanting a better grip a piece of bicycle tire tube works pretty good: There must be some standard rubber bands out there too that can be used....
Just arrived! Nice weight to it and a high quality feel to it - works perfectly on my seamaster 165.024. Looking forward to trying it out on my speedies soon. Pahawi- many thanks for the smooth transaction and fast delivery! Am I the first to get one?
Although I have the same Omega case back opener, I feel like I'm missing out on this great looking piece
Hi! Received mine through mail today - waiting for me when I came back from work. What an awesome tool! Paul, thank You so much - both of You Kimmo
Talk about good service and super quality. I paid for mine on 9May16 and it arrived from the other side of the world today The engineering is excellent, the feel of the brass in the hand is a tactile pleasure. So far I've found about six different Omegas that it fits, I haven't got around to checking others yet. Many thanks for this Paul, my feedback is ✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯ Cheers Jim
Thanks Jim Could be interesting to know how many different casebacks it actually fits, so feel free to post your findings.... Thanks, Paul
