Yes, there are lots of [well used] pickle courts in the public parks as well. And at the other end of the spectrum people have pickle courts in their back yards or tennis courts that can be multi-purposed with additional lines and often a roll on net for pickle (a pickle net is slightly lower than a tennis net). I even saw a crazy house listing online where there was a fancy indoor pickle court.

Public tennis and pickle ball courts are common here, so being expensive isn’t a given for either.

Disclosure: I have now bounced my non-small self off the inside of the glass numerous times, both as part of the fun and in hope of persuading onlookers it might be an elite play of some kind. That glass is tough!

Reminds me how I used to play squash...my rheumatologist told me I had to give it up because I was always crashing into the walls to make a shot. Even with tennis I tend to be a “sacrifice the body” kind of player...not so fun on hard courts!

I was in the same boat, skeptical about branching out from tennis. But let me tell you, trying out Pickleball was a game-changer. It brought a new level of fun and accessibility, especially for the kids in our community. I remember organizing a Pickleball tournament at our local club, and it was a hit! Even the teens who were hesitant at first got into it once they saw how dynamic and engaging the game can be. Plus, I found some great insights on improving my game over at https://anypickleball.com/, which really helped me dive deeper into the sport. So yeah, if you're on the fence, give it a shot!
