Oyster Bracelet Wierdness

I have this preowned Oyster bracelet (78350 19mm). Seems one of the permanent links was previously "repaired" (?) and is now separating. The weird thing is the link looks to have been installed upside down. I mean, WTH?!? presumably its this mis-install that's causing the links to separate again. Has anyone else seen this? Is it an easy (inexpensive) fix?

Does this strange part of the bracelet have (polished) rivets or screws on the side?

There are no screws or rivets on the side. It appears to be a solid link 78350.

The pins just seem to be separating. With a squeeze they'll click the link back together but it won't stay that way for long.

I just mailed it off today to get it repaired...

Can you turn the outer parts of the link 180° and the link is in the usal position again?

The link doesn't separate completely. But the gap seems to be growing. I decided to have it repaired before the link finally gives up and the head ends up crashing onto the concrete or getting lost for ever...
