Scrolling through this thread I'm thinking some people must really hate watches.

at least you wouldn't fret about scuffing the original finish.

It’s the love of money that drives this.

I suppose it's wonder the crystal isn't brushed. Maybe it got "taped off"!

Such incredible beauty & smoothness reminds me of this one here (and I think, it originally come out of the sacred halls of Biel that way) 😀😀

The much misunderstood "german" Mk V... yes, this was "by design". An acquired taste, for sure! 😉

I rejected this 2254 as being over polished. Was I over reacting? Thanks.

Are those reflections or is that gummy dark rouge on sides of lugs? Over polished and poorly cleaned cases are a specialty for some discerning collectors.

I wasn't quite sure what overpolished was until I opened this thread.

Mercy sakes alive! I sure know now.

This has got to be one of the most hilarious threads I have seen- and an incredible education at that! Sometimes we see so many of the same watch over-polished (hello piepan Connie), that we didn’t actually know they were supposed to have brushed surfaces or chamfers. Until I saw a minty pipe pan on this site, I seriously didn’t know there were supposed to be that many cut angles on the case.
