Full disclosure: no Rolex hater here. Have a lot of them I really like. But this one?

    image.jpeg

Discordant, over-done graphics, ghastly ugly, makes Mr. T nauseated.

    image.jpeg

Classic styling, solid gold dial and hands, great movement, 35mm (in 1948? Wow!) under $4000. Can you go wrong?

    What's your personal picks?

Both have their plus and minus points, would probably take the omega over the rolex because it is a lot less busy. Is it necessary to have four lines of writing when perhaps two would do? No.

i'd like to see the rolex on a wrist ... my guess is the 40mm look good ...

the all golden shiny omega is a no-go for me ... having a 2nd look ... one of the turn offs is the liquid-goldish appearance (normally associated with heavy polishing)

having that one on a nice leather strap to dress it down or the centerpieces brushed - I could def. roll with that (and I generally dislike daytonas)

Rolex is over he top and trying to be something it's not.
Omega been destroyed by someone with a polishing cloth
    I'd spend my money elsewhere

Not apples vs. oranges - I just picked two, unrelated watches that for me, represented pieces I think we're over-rated, and under-rated. No direct comparison between the two. Curious what others had to say.

Can I pick neither? Rolex to me isnt that likable, and I am not a fan of gold watches. I would never buy one, mainly because I cant pull off the look. They just dont fit me.

If I were to purchase a Daytona, it wouldn't be that one. But I'd take that Daytona over the gold Omega all day long. Just doesn't do anything for me.

For me, most Rolex watches are over rated (not a hater either). Under rated, are the clean simple dials that don't measure over the 40mm size. Being the ADD person that I am, I have a hard time with distractions on "busy" watches. Now the Speedy's are the exception, of course.

And to help clarify, it seems you mean over and underrated watch models. Maybe not the exact one pictures, but the reference number. Correct?
