The watch is currently not working, do you believe it is worth restoring,

Mr. Grun was a jeweler in Vienna, Austria, where he was born on March 19, 1896. In 1930, he moved to Manhattan and started his own firm. He manufactured watches under his name in Switzerland, and he was well-known for the quality and creativity of his jewelry designs,

Among other honors, he was a recipient of the DeBeers Diamond International Award. He created the diamond heart pendant which became the trademark for Arlene Francis, the actress; Democracy's Timepiece, a watch designed for Eleanor Roosevelt which was exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution, and the apple jade and diamond ring worn as a lucky piece by Eugene Cernan while orbiting the moon in Apollo X.

Otto Grun also created the classic RAF watch pin, whose proceeds went to support the British American Ambulance Corps during World War II. But no reference for the watch above, what do you think ?

I bought this watch just for how cool it looks even if it is not working, but also it will be more cool if I have more information about it

You probably already know more about this watch than most 馃榿. It has an attractive dial and a stepped bezel. If the movement is a jeweled Swiss mechanism like this one, it will respond well to a sympathetic service. Bonus points: You'll never see another on someone else's wrist.

Thank you so much. It looks really amazing, and I didn't see anything similar to it. According to the seller, it should be Swiss-made, but I'll double check when I receive it.

As you've noted, it's a private label watch, and hopefully with a solid Swiss movement inside. The expandable endlinks of that bracelet have caused some damage to the lugs, so you will probably want to replace it immediately.

Thanks Dan for your nice observation, I will do so.

This is to keep you updated, I received the watch today, the crown was heavy to rotate so I believe that means it needs service, but I wound it only twice just to test and luckily the second hand and minutes and hours worked even after 12 hours or leaving it, which is very impressive but I guess may be a good sign, I will need to visit a watch maker so any recommendations, I believe other than watch service and the bracelet that recommended to be replaced, I need to clean the glass but not sure if the case can be slightly polished or not

It's chrome plate over brass/base metal. Polishing won't improve anything. Just a good clean with a soft brush/detergent and a session in an ultrasonic cleaner should be all that's needed.

Let it look its age, not all vintage watches have to be tarted up.

Sorry if my mobile camera is not that good.

Thank you very much for your helpful advice. I'm going to follow that.
