Other uses for a loupe...

My wife bought me this one for Christmas but it’s got to go back - it’s just too small with a 1/2” focal length and a 20X magnification. Gives me a headache looking through it! I was thinking of getting one of those bigger ones with perhaps a 8 or 10X magnification. What do most of you use?

A loupe is great if I'm on the go. But if I'm at home, I prefer these. I use them all the time, and I recently came home to find Mrs. S using it to read some fine print on some packaging.

I use one of these when I want to use a triplet.

A very useful item, I admit that I've even used one to find the wife's G spot, but sadly to no avail.

May be you need a loup with an additional light source for this occasion ?

I liked it, someone had to be first!

But only when I'm serving up a wee dram for somebody else.
I know you better, give yourself an extra splash!
I'm quite sure that you know exactly what you pour but I would bet guests are treated to excess.
Now, if they are happy with a blend, who could blame you?
Nothing wrong with conserving personal treats!
Mine is Diplomatico Reserva rum from Venezuela or One Barrel from Belize.
Jimbo, I'll be 50 kilometers off the coast of Venezuela in 4 weeks!
I'll be looking for that tri-hull flying the Cross.

On to horology, I have readers, an illuminated magnifier (vintage Dazor), Bausch & Lomb visor, loupes and I use every damn one of 'em, often several at a time. It works to combine them!
My only disappointment is the 20x loupe with light I bought cheap.

Fountain pen nibs 😀
Also very useful while replacing old ink sacs with my dentist tools. 😁

Well, my good man, there are many uses for an eye loupe....such as looking down in disdain, harrumphing at a disagreeable opinion, or laughing in delight at a witty expression.

I use this too. How do you typically carry your loupes generally? I keep it in the same box mine came in. I've seen the leather case made by Belomo but am not too keen on that.

Here are my binocular loupes...first is a beautiful Oculus German made...second is a cheap Chinese, which is worthless in both function and clarity. Only $600 separate them.

WOW I really didn't think that 2 LED's would make them that much more expensive.🥱😲:whipped:😝
