Dear All, I have an Oris Big Crown Pointer date watch, nice watch ! Since I prefer generally black dials, I thought I would make the change. I thought it would only be a matter to buy a black dial from Oris and to get my watchsmith to install it ... wrong !! I did so for another watch, an inexpensive Strela that look much better with the black dial Hence, I tried to get the dial .. it failed with the local AD, and I had to go through the french AD, but they would not send the dial ... no Sir ! They want the watch in their workshop, they "need" to perform a regulation and oiling .. it shall cost 180.€ (when the dial is worth 50.€) .. so I sent it and when they got it, they told me a complete overhaul was to be done .. end result, it cost me close to 300.€ A bit frustrating, but with these brands it is impossible nowadays to secure spare parts, that's how it is, nothing can be done. Anyhow here is the result .. Prior to the change And after The look is better (for me that is) but was it worth the cost is another story ! Thank you for your attention,
