Of the 10 BMW's my wife and I have between us, only one has been an X model. It was a bare bones 2012 X1, and we got it because we couldn't find a good 3 series that my wife wanted. She had it for a total of 2 years on a 3 year lease, and when the dealer offered to take it back she jumped at the chance to offload it, and get a proper 3 series car.

My favorite BMW was my 335i. Absolutely loved that car.

The gold standard, very nice. We lease too, we are trying out our first electric now, the M50. The performance is there, but I prefer an ICE.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of the big grille design, or of the "everything is computer" interior design with the entire instrument cluster and dash being a massive screen. Pretty sure the grille will go away eventually, but not sure about that big screen...

It’s a shame, and I agree.

I hope one day they can return to the roots of being the Ultimate Driving Machine. Simple but high quality interiors, maximum fun.

Well, looks like tariffs might be paused again for the foreseeable future. Time for that yo-yo!

How bizarre - you simply couldn’t make it up. The BBC news this evening had a feature from Wall Street - one trader said that the all the unknowns, uncertainty and surprises equates to a torching of the market … and that was before the pause was announced 🤔

The market has effectively been torched. But, never trust a trader- EVER- talking about "the market" on the news. You'd get much better results listening to a clinical psychologist talk about how human emotion works and it would still lack tradeable value.

I know it's likely way too much to ask, but I hope someone is watching the trades his proxies and the people around him are making in relation to these moves...the grift continues...

Agree, I have been watching congressional trades for the last few years. It’s all of them, not just the current admin. I’ve done well with it.

In fairness, SPY gained roughly 50% during Biden's presidency, moving from just about 390 to just over 600. It would be my sincere hope that anyone would do well during that time frame regardless of strategy.

There is a saying about bull markets making everyone a genius.

Biden was good for the stock market, and I retired early at 52yrs during his Presidency. I still like to see what politicians are buying and selling regardless.

My comment isn't really a criticism, but an observation about how bull markets undeniably function. And it's not really an endorsement of Biden specifically impacting the market. That's not really... pertinent to me.

I'm genuinely glad that you were able to retire early, that's awesome.

Maybe they can put all the money received from tariffs into a cookie-jar and when it is full go down to the bank and pay off the US national debt - and all live happily ever after.

Someone bought a crapload of way-out-of-the-money 0DTE SPY calls about 5 minutes before the great rollback. These options then promptly went up 2100%. Very legal and very cool.
