This seems original to me. Is this an original dial? Thank you

I'm inclined to think that it is legit, but the lume is in terrible shape on the hands, the 11 and 12 markers, and the paint is flaking on the subsecond hand. Crown looks correct from what I can see, but the case is difficult to assess without more and better photos. Rule number 1 for Ranchero shopping: no extract from the archives = no purchase.

What about the accent over "E". I dont remember seeing that on yours or any others I have seen.

It’s hard to be 100% from one poor quality photo but I’d vote original as well.

I don’t think it’s an accent over the e. More likely a mark or dust.

The subdial markers are usually a good tell in these. Even the ‘good’ redials are usually not well centered.

More/better pics would help--that "accent" could be damage or debris.

I think that's more likely a spot on the dial or the crystal, but without better photos I agree that it's hard to tell.

My apologies. What do you mean cantered?

From my little experience it's a very frustrating experience buying watches like these, the hands haunt you, it's extremely hard and expensive finding common hands and practically impossible finding rare ones 🙁

Rancheros are a challenge because they were only made for two years, many were transformed into Seacheros because of poor sales, and most of the remaining ones have been frankened or redialed. It’s a minefield. But the good ones are worth the hunt and the price. Very handsome watches. They say that the black dialed versions are easier to find than the white dialed versions, but that hasn’t been my experience. Good black dialed Rancheros are few and far between. I love mine.

Not my wheelhouse but I do not think its original. What do you think @gbesq

Better not to comment, if it's not in your "Wheelhouse" . It's ok, not a beauty , but the dial is correct. The rest might not be. Pics. Needed.

Seems to me that the hour markers are not centered in the minute markers, notably at 6, 7 and 10.

That’s okay I will continue to be as helpful to others as I can. Thanks though.

The hands are correct, however the lume is poor. This needn’t be a showstopper as they can be relumed.

If they were missing or wrong it would be much more of an issue.

+1 for it likely being original. That amount of lume degradation on the dial and hands is what makes me lean towards original more than anything else. I'd want better pictures before laying out any money though. For me, I'd walk away because those hands would bug me every time I looked at it.

The hands and indices (where necessary) can certainly be relumed and color matched with superluminova by an experienced and competent watchmaker. Water based tritium might also be an option. Reluming certainly detracts from originality and collectible value, but not everyone wants a watch with this much radium based lume.

Hands are relumed with water based Tritium and cleaned up in 1 hour......
