Hello everyone! I’m seeking your advice on this omega ref 2320 1W that I would want to buy to improve my collection.

I’ve made a small investigation and here are my conclusions :

Good points :
  • Case looks sharp and in good shape
  • Movement is dating to 1947 (11.xxx.xxx) wich is correct for this reference
  • Price is 300 euros (which is fair IMO)
Bad points and doubts :
  • Shouldn’t a cal 283 be marked as such?
  • I have no idea if the dial is original or redone even if it looks fine to my non-expert eyes. Iv’e compared to other references and I cannot find the same configuration. Also the dial seems too clean?
  • Second hand looks too short?
  • The watch will need a service because the regulator isn’t centred
  • Replacement crown
Here are the pics :

I was trying to search everywhere for the few last days but I didn’t find answers to the doubts that I have, so I prefered to ask here before buying and show it through your expert eyes to be sure that I’m not missing something.

Thanks in advance for your precious help! 👍

This should be a 30T2SC based on the year. The 280 started around 1949 and 283 wasn’t built until the 1950's. 30T2 was stamped into the mainplate below the regulator. The later 2xx calibers were stamped on the top. The rivets on the dial for the odd hours are correct for this era and gold numbers were common. The hands are too long for the second track and the Omega font spacing looks a bit off to me. Here is my 1946. Although the case is a different reference, look at how the same style leaf hands on mine align with the minute and second track that is a bit closer to the outside of the dial.

Thanks for you reply! 👍 So regarding your remarks I should stay away from the watch in your opinion?

It depends on you. If you want an inexpensive vintage Omega with 30T2, you could buy this one. If you want one that is also authentic, you will need to increase your budget. This one is cheap for a reason.

Thank you so much for helping me! I’ll definitely keep looking then as originality is important to me and I do not want to buy a redial 👍

Hello everyone.
I need information about the ref 2320 watch, cal 30T2.
I bought this watch but I can't find anything anywhere. I'm particularly interested in the stamp on the casing. Is this a Portuguese stamp and a Portuguese version? Thanks in advance for every entry
