Hello - I picked this watch up several months ago as a non-running project. It proved to be quite an endeavor as I found a lot of damage done by someone. It had the wrong hairspring fitted to the balance staff (forced on and glued!) a damaged balance bridge, and several other issues.

Luckily, I was able to source a parts movement, an NOS “balance complete,” and an NOS mainspring. It is now running beautifully. However, my expense on the watch makes no rational sense at this point. :)

I go back and forth on selling it, but am wondering what you all think of the dial. I want to make sure I represent it accurately if I do decide to let it go. I am usually pretty good at detecting refinished dials, but I am just not familiar enough with this era of Omega. The dial has its fair share of damage done by clumsy hands. Anyway, I’d appreciate any thoughts or insights on this watch.

    Thanks

First tell for me, seeing the 5 and 7 o’clock markers, and how they go over the sub second sub dial… I’d say redial :)

Attractive style but a poorly refinished dial. The 5 and 7 hr markers extending into the subdial and the smudged, uneven markers leave no doubt.

I was thinking so. I didn’t want to influence the responses. I appreciate the response and input.

Well, it’s likely a keeper at this point. I have no idea what it’s worth, but I am sure I’m probably in more than makes sense.

I also think it is a keeper because once you start to invest in a vintage watch to repair it do not wort to sell it anymore . I think only to replace a few parts NOS cost what you paid for the watch.

    It’s 33mm without the crown.
