·Hi again folks,
Thanks all for your continued patience and generosity helping me on my vintage Seamaster journey. I've decided to broaden my search to include both 166.010 non-Chronograph and 168.024 chronograph references. I still visually prefer the simpler dial of the 166.010 but the more I read, the more I can also appreciate the desirability of a chronograph.
Wanted to ask what people thought of this buy at ~$1,200. I'd need to source my own BOR bracelet (adding an additional $300 to the cost). Besides some pitting on the hands though it seems to be in beautiful condition. The movement looks relatively clean to me and I'm encouraged by the timegrapher reading. Do you think I need to be budgeting for an immediate full service for this watch? At $1500 total I think I could justify it, but if it'll take another $300-$400 to get it in reliable condition I'll probably pass. What do you think?
