Just received this Mark 4.5 a few weeks ago, and absolutely love it. Case is pretty good, keeps good time, resets to zero. Iread many times that this was large or chunky watch. Not the case. I'm 6'-0" and 170, not huge, and this I isn't too big for me. Very pleased.
    Except for the bracelet.
It isn't original to the watch. I'm not even sure that it was made by Omega. It's bent and doesn't close completely.

    Can replacement bands be found?
Do they cost too much to be worth it?
Would this watch look good on leather?

    Any opinions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hey Buckeyes#1,

Nice pickup! Looks good. You should be able to get a modern replacement bracelet for that.. maybe a 1171 or something like that. I got one for a Mark II a while back and it cost me $350 CAD - about $280 USD - directly from Omega. You might also be able to find one on ebay as proper vintage ones do come up from time to time, but they're often well used.

Anyway, great watch with a great movement - cal 1045, a well respected movement based on the Lemania 5100.

    Cheers,

    J

    Oddboy,

$280 from Omega! I'm surprised. It never occurred to me to go to the direct source, I thought it would be much more expensive. I will give them a try.

I think ofrei.com also carries them. The one I got was an 1162 which is similar to the 1171. Either should work I think, but check your facts and make sure it will fit the Mark 4.5 case before dropping your $$ off.

I read that the first link should flare out wider than the lugs to align with the case. Does the 1162 or 1171 do this?

I'm not 100% sure. The mark ii case is very similar to the mark 4.5 case though..

Mark 4.5 also look fantastic on a good Q leather strap - dark brown or black are my favourites

    Good pick up

The bracelets are not that difficult to find, what you need to be sure of is which ends you need for your watch. It took me an age to findout which ends would fit my watch. ( The watch originally had a 1171bracelet with 625 ends but they don t have those any more so I had to find a suitable replacement) Oferi should be able to help with the correct ends but you need to let them know which model number you have.
    Nice watch by the way.

Thanks for the info. I'll ask Oferi about the ends.
