Opinions on four Speedmaster bracelets?

I had my 1861 serviced by TM Watches in South Dakota and I feel they did a very good job. The original bracelet was polished back to factory as well.

I’ve always been intrigued by Forstner bracelets, especially the flat link model but when I looked at the president 1450, it seemed like a better fit for mine.

I ordered the Forstner President, and installed it yesterday. It’s a fairly high-quality bracelet, but one thing I have to say is that it is very sharp and the end links will scratch the hell out of your watch lugs so use caution when installing it. It really needs to be dehorned.

It’s not quite as heavy gauge as the original speedmaster professional bracelet, which came with my watch. I enjoy that bracelet for its quality, but I wanted to change the look up a little, so I went with something else.

I also swap out with an inexpensive, stainless mesh bracelet from Ebay shown in the pictures, which is probably one of my favorite for comfort. It’s always good to have something in the mix.
Lastly, I included an original NOS 1116 bracelet, I’m waiting for 575 end links to install it on my 68 speedmaster.

I dunno,
what do you think of the Forstner compared to original to-this-model bracelet?

Look ok to me, a little to “fat” at the edges, but if you would not have diff options it would oude be fine. But you do. I love the 1116, song hope you get the 565 parts soon. Info not care much for the one on the right, a little plain. The “sharkish” fold over bracelet also gives it an interesting look i think, early sixty/end 50 vibes. My 2 cents. All time classic Omega speedy!

The 1450 is a great look! I used to like the 1861 bracelet, but with the new 3861 bracelets and retro alternatives being available I think the 1861 watch/bracelet looks more and more mismatched.

Honestly, I prefer the Forstner bracelets to some of the Omega originals from the 1990’s. I have a Forstner Bullet on my tritium 3570.50 and a Forstner flat link on my broad arrow 3594.50 … the original bracelets for both mostly sit in the boxes. I have an Omega 1171 on my Seamaster 300 but may replace it with a Forstner flat link. The only Speedmaster bracelet that I wear regularly is the OE bracelet on my new cal 3861. I wish it didn’t have such a pronounced taper, but it’s well made and comfortable.

I’ve just ordered a Forstner bracelet for my 3861 Moonwatch. I’m looking forward to seeing how good it is.

It’s tough to judge just by these pictures. I prefer the Forstner Bullet over the President for a Speedy. I’m so used to the new 3861 bracelet that the old OEM bracelet looks a bit weird but even just looking at it for a couple minutes it grew on me. I just don’t love the polished links in there. If it was all brushed that might be the winner for me.

I know someone who got a 3861 Speedy and immediately replaced the OE bracelet with a Forstner Bullet. He didn’t like the extreme taper of the OE bracelet and never even sized it. I’m still on the fence … I like the bracelet’s design and comfort, but the taper annoys me.

I’ve not worn a metal bracelet much over my very many years of wearing a watch, so I don’t know if the taper will be an issue for me. The bracelet hasn’t arrived yet, so I’ll have to wait and see.
