Second post asking for help with a possible purchase.

    Does this look correct?
http://www.ebay.es/itm/161060181075?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

The back is marked 165002 but that comes up as a De Ville and the face is not marked as such. The Seamaster logo does not have the 'S' in the exact font I was expecting either. Am not sure about this but, the seller has been selling off a collection and receiving good feedback.

He has a couple of others as well but none come up on the Omega website as looking exactly like the pictures. Do you think these have been refinished or is this normal?

Any opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

By the way, is there a book to buy relating to the 1950s/60s models as I clearly have a lot to learn?

    Chris

Your link doesn't work (at least not for me).

    Thanks, John.

This one should: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161060181075Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

There seems to be a lot of spurious data on the end of the previous link that may just relate to me (password, bank details etc...)

eBay says the listing has been removed.

The Omega database, while praiseworthy indeed (and we are all jolly grateful to you fine Omega chaps), is notoriously incomplete and unreliable - especially when it comes to dial design and furniture. They only show one dial example for a particular case ID, when there may have been many variations - especially in the 1950s, and to a lesser extent the 1960s too.

Sorry Guys. It doesn't work for me from the forum either as it tries to kick to ebay.com but, the seller only ships to Europe so it is not listed there. It is listed on ebay.co.uk and all Europe ebays with that number.

I have no idea how to get around that so, forget this thread and I will try to work it out before posting again. Apologies for wasting your time.

Now we know what the problem is - you just start eBay UK and paste 161060181075 into the search box. The watch looks quite nice to me, but I am sure you will get more expert opinion shortly. You could, of course, save the relevant photos from the listing to your own PC, and then upload them here.

Thanks Guys. All the effort much appreciated. Trying to judge any of these watches is not coming easy to me and I now appreciate the holes in the Omega database.

    Anyway, good suggestion, just upload.

    Thanks, Chris. $(KGrHqNHJE4FHOnhnBdWBR1ngtzBgw~~60_57.JPG $(KGrHqZHJE0FG9ufpk(JBR1nggGgD!~~60_3.JPG $T2eC16NHJHYFFkZzHr1KBR1ng1i!Ww~~60_3.JPG $T2eC16FHJGQFFh1eSC6yBR1nglT3TQ~~60_3.JPG

Looks like a refinished dial to me.

Yea, the OMEGA and the S both seem weird, font is wrong. Chris, are you looking for a collectible? If so, listen to Hoi and pass. If your just looking for a clean watch, get it cheap!

Thanks, will keep looking and see what I find. It didn't seem right to me either so, I am learning something.
