I was at my Omega AD over the weekend picking up my Seamaster that was in for service and the sales lady and I got to talking about Breitlings. Been looking at some Super Ocean Heritage 42 on the mesh bracelet and just wanted to get some of the more learned members opinions on this watch. Thanks in advance.

Tried the SOH at my local jeweler awhile back. Felt really nice on the wrist, especially the mesh bracelet. When it came down to it for the money I decided not to stray from the Omega brand.

Nice watch though. Flashy. If you're into that sorta thing.

I own a Breitling. Have for years. It's the longest tenured modern watch in my collection.

I'm a fan. Have a Navitimer and I love it on a croc or the bracelet. Hankered after one of these since I woz a lad so its definitely a keeper. A colleague has the SOH42 and its on my list too.

All those numbers, & only 7 hands! There's room for a couple of red hands with white tips.

to be fair I've no idea how to use all of it. I get the speed over distance measurement but its more than that....! I never know what the starting point on the bezel is so line up the 60 at 12 is my OCD

A vintage Cosmonaute is on my to-buy list...last year due to lack of funds, I had to pass on a 60’s gold one (£2700) and a 60’s steel one (£2300) - Both were really nice, and of course now I have funds (ish), prices have of course shot up.. :(

I looked at the SOH 42 against the Speedy.
It wore very well, and I liked it very much, but, I just couldn't live with that amount of shiny. Also, and this may just be me, the times I tried one on at an AD, I found myself constantly cleaning my paw marks off it.
Find myself drawn to the older ones now.

I have that exact watch and love it. Has great wrist presence without being imposing, very comfortable to wear as well. The crystal, in person, just plays off the dial wonderfully.

If you want a new SOH II 42 you will want to do it soon as it has been replaced with a 44mm model.

My current favorite watch is a Breitling Superocean(Heresy!!). Smooth corners all around, just feels right..like an old t-shirt.

Plus its thick and heavy, like me.
