Just saw this and flagged it. Any advice? Does jeweler's name detract from desirability or value? http://www.ebay.com/itm/390646813015Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Thanks in advance!
That's a cool one. Double-signed dial is usually desirable to some degree; Meister appears to be an old Zurich-based jeweler. Case and lugs look lightly polished, but not overly so.
Anybody know why the MEISTER would be faded out but not the Seamaster script on this dial? Is the MEISTER printed directly onto the dial after it has been fully finished? That might make the difference.
Yes it is, if the Tiffany practice with Pateks is anything to go by. http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/printing-tiffany-dials-with-patek-philippe
Good to know! You should be able to use this as a test as to whether or not the dial is original then. This implies the dial is probably original.
One might think, however, don't take anything for granted across the board. There have been know cases where a re-finisher had redone or added entirely a dealer name just to make the dial look more legitimate.
