Hi,

Don’t know much about Omegas as I have been mostly a Rolex guy to date but have decided to branch out.
Picked up a watch on EBay, bought with no guidance and before I found this site and hoping to get feedback on.

is this a real 14k Omega case? There are hallmarks on the case back but it seems unusual not to see any markings on the case itself or the lugs. Haven’t popped the bezel and aren’t planning on it at this point.

If the case and movement are authentic I think I did ok at just under $500 for the piece. The dial is a bad redial but if it’s a real gold case watch I can throw some more money at it to sort it out better.

thoughts?

How much help can one expect with small, low-rez and blurry pix? and no pix of the back?

I can only see about $200 value here and that's if the movement looks better than presented and works. (plus gold, if any)

Lots of info in this forum, start reading and asking questions.....unless you have a bottomless pit of new $500 bills.

The caseback is marked 0.585, which means 14k, but the watch is probably not worth saving.

Apologies for the bad pics. My eyes aren’t great and working on a phone is marginal at best. Let me try again.

In regards to the back, there are no markings or hallmarks of any kind. The only ones I can find are on the inside of the case back. Nothing on the lugs which I guess does surprise me. I would think they would stamp the case itself but the metal does seem to match on all the case pieces.

And if you have a Men's solid 14K cased running watch for under $500, I would consider it. Message me with what you have! I got cash.

Nobody has them because they are scrapped, but that doesn't make a watch like this worth buying IMO.

Any markings on this case were probably polished away, which is part of the reason (along with the dial) that the watch has zero collectible value. The value is as melt and movement parts.

Sometimes my drollness does not translate on a forum, nor my politeness to a newbie. You were straight to the point and more blunt but we pretty much said the same thing.👍

Wow - thanks for the help all. This forum has a lot of good info if you just want to search for it and read. But your social interaction skills may need some work though. I thought TRF was bad! lol.... Well, if you wonder why participation is not more widespread, I hang on a lot of different forums as my interest is varied. Many forums have this same issue.

I did not realize there wasn't widespread participation on OF. Learn something new every day!

Truth is such a bitch, when all one is looking for is affirmation.
