If he's correct, it appears in better condition for the mid 60's era than most examples that pass by. At around $500 currently, its not the best overall price I've seen, but it has been recently serviced an is supposedly all original. Thoughts?
I'm no expert, but I have seen plenty of these while perusing auctions, etc. This one does appear to be correct, and in nice condition. As for price, bear in mind that there are many of these that circulate in the market, and, with patience, it is possible to find the occasional bargain.
$500 US should land you a very nice example. Note, an original bracelet should have fitted end pieces, this bracelet looks like a later one which has been adapted.
That one looks like a second generation right? My FIL bought this 1st gen one for $500, but I think he got a deal
Yes, he got a deal. First gen ones in equal condition typically command a 25-50% premium over second gens.
VERY nice early example! The dial condition on your father in law's is fantastic and with an original stretch link bracelet, $500 was an outstanding deal!
To the Op. The Sea Wolf in the listing is in good condition. I was watching it. The price is getting steep also considering that I think @X350 XJR is correct about the bracelet.
