    Hi guys,

Could I get your opinion on this Zenith Chronograph cal. 136 before I throw my hard earn money at it. The only information I can get from the seller is that the diameter is 32 mm without crown, it's 18k gold and that it's a caliber 136. I got the same information (except the diameter) by looking at the watch myself, so I believe the seller doesn't know much.

I was wondering if the dial and hands are original? I have looked up a few similar watches owned by respectable forum members but I've never seen the dial in this color.

Thanks for your help. Just trying to see if it's worth adding it to my collection.

    J

    Looks very nice.

You can see that it looks like if the color of the Zenith font had discolored differently from the rest of the gilt paint. You also see that with some very similar Jaeger and UG chronographs from the same era. The UG's and Jaegers presumably came from the same factory, only to have the brand name added later (hence the color difference).

I have an inkling (more so when comparing the hands) that this Zenith has the same dial pedigree as the Jaeger and UG's

@BartH Thanks! What is worrying is the style difference in the numbers.

Well, I think they share a pedigree, but I don't believe they are identical. The dial of the Jaeger below for instance comes from a bigger (35mm watch).
