Opinion on Vintage Seamaster

Hello,

New to the forum. I’ve been browsing the vintage eBay listing section and ran across a vintage seamaster on eBay. I was considering getting a vintage omega for my upcoming wedding. I ran across this watch and was considering purchasing. The listing states that the watch was recently serviced by Parker Jewlers. The listing is in Mechanicsburg, Penn.

The listing states the watch is 33mm and automatic. There is not much information besides that. I have attached some photos.
The watch appears to be in good shape (to my untrained eyes).

Would anyone be able to give me some additional information on the watch? Is this watch worth purchasing? I will include all available photos from the seller.
Thank you so much.

Only you know whether it is worth it for you to purchase. It seems OK from the pics. The case is a little soft which is all too common on watches with gold, and this one is likely gold clad.

See if you can get more information from the seller, especially the case number, which is inside the caseback. Then we can share more.

The case is gold-capped, which can be worth buying IMO. Other than that, the photos are so poor that I'd be hesitant to say anything. And obviously it depends on the price. Finally, if the 33mm size is accurate, many men find that quite small if they are accustomed to modern watches. If you are a woman, it's probably fine.

Based on those photos, buying it would be a total crap-shoot, so it better be dirt cheap.

It looks like gold capped, and I think it is OK. However the pictures are poorly focused so I can't say anything for sure. I am almost certain the crown has been replaced. To me this is a gamble, but depending on the price it might be worth the risk. You have no movement pictures so that is also a big unknown.

Thank you to everyone that has replied! I agree that the photos are not good quality at all, so I really appreciate everyone looking at them. I’ve messaged the seller for a case number and any additional info. The watch is currently priced at 500 US dollars but accepts offers. Is this a reasonable price point? I will see what additional information the seller provides, but based off responses so far it seems that this watch might be too much of a gamble without better pictures and my limited knowledge.

The photos are poor but I can’t see a ‘tail’ on the sweep second hand, and I would have expected to see one.

I am positive you are correct but also reasonably sure the original crown was discontinued, much like the 166.010. I think this one is a 1470x.

Depending on what it is $500 might be reasonable.

Personally i think it worth a little less..I will only offer 330 Euro..

Photos from satellites are more in focus. If this is from a seller, why wouldn’t you give your product the best opportunity to sell? Unless it’s dodgey…….
