Hi gents! Have been offered to buy this item from a private seller for aprox. 720 USD. I would like to hear your opinon on this one. Is it genuin? Redial? Is the price set correctly? All info is good. BR /Viking
Yes, very genuine. Back had some scratches that were polished, lugs not pristine but both no big deal. Dial very good. Crosshairs, a plus, movement a 564, looks good. Star is a little off, but I would discount in view of overall picture. In my opinion the price is very cheap for this watch and I would grab it if I did not own one just like it. This would be a 1968 watch according to the serial number, late in the production of this model, but still quite possible considering the imprecise nature of Omega production data.
Cincindela! Thanks for your input! My major concern is, as you say, the misalignment of the star ?! Second, it seems that the 10 min, marker is not align with the 2 O:clock index, does not match up with the centre axis? Third, the MOY test is not 100 % (the centre line does not pass the "O" in the middle. Perhaps above concerns is due to the angle from which the photo was taken?! Opinon anyone? BR /Viking
2 O:clock index looks like it could be the angle of the photograph as you said. The MOY looks pretty good to me, but it would be better to tell with close ups from different angles. Of course it is possible to have the whole dial fake, but the only way to know for sure would be to look at the back.
I think it looks ok. The movement, medallion and case are all in decent shape, so it looks likes the watch hasn't been played around with too much.
...Forth, seems like the minute markers on the top half of the dial is furhter away from the pia pan edge, whilst on the lower half they tend to be closer to the edge. There is something spooky with this watch which I cant really put my finger on!!
I've seen quite a few Constellation dials that had slightly misaligned stars. Looks okay but I'd want to see the inside of the caseback too. Surely a decent price.
Your back looks exactly like my 168.005 made in 1967 and verified sold to the Alcoa corp of Canada. Same pearlage, font, etching style, placement, layout etc.
A little late to the party, but I see nothing wrong here. Price is excellent in current market for that watch. gatorcpa
I hate the misaligned star, the high serial # go with onyx inserts but I must accep it as an original and authentic dial
