See this one MK3 for a 1680/5513. You think it’s naturally faded or “baked”? Also the pearl surround is not the right color but I can work around that. I’m thinking it is genuine however. Any thoughts?

I am not an expert but for me also the outer ring of the pearl doesn't look right and also the shape of the pearl, but let see the opinion of people with more experience.

For starters, that’s not a MkIII (easy test is to look at the “4”). Secondly, it’s probably not a 1680 insert, easy test is to look at the metal pearl sitting outside of the triangle—1680 etc pearls are cased in plastic and sit inside the triangle. It MIGHT be a 1680 later/service insert that’s had a 16610etc pearl fitted to it (you’d need to know diameter of insert to be certain if it’s 16610 or 1680). Lastly, it’s probably artificially faded...it has that splotchy, hazy look.

Here’s an example of a naturally faded mkIII Insert for comparison. My pearl is not factory original, but you can see the difference.
