Good evening fellow Omega nuts. I had the opportunity to pick up from a local friend a few vintage Omega's. He was the local AD for years in my town and a few years ago they canceled his dealership as they were heading toward the boutique system. One of the pieces I picked up was a Connie pie-pan black dial. He told me he has had it for years. The lume is a lovely honey brown color and the pips match the hands. In reading up on these, I see that the black dial is harder to find. I'd like opinions as to how this one stacks up. Crown is signed, strap and buckle are Omega. It's really a nice little watch. Appreciate any thoughts on this. - Mike
I was lucky enough to pick up this, a NOS Chronostop and a speedy 125. My buddy closed his store after many years and these were some he'd held onto. The Connie was my only concern given what you read on the internet.
On second consideration I think it's a total franken and to save yourself the embarrassment you should get rid of it quick. I can help by taking it off your hands...
To put it in some perspective, I was searching ebay today and I couldn't find one decent arrowhead on all of ebay that wasn't a precious metal.. And none were that great really besides the deluxes that they always ask way too much for. I even found three premoons for decent prices so far.. No arrowheads.. Much less a black dialed perfect one. You got one hell of a watch there.
Ooh aahh. What a great grab. Congrats! I've been looking at these for months on eBay and it's really hard to find one that is not tainted let alone this clean. You found a real gem.
Beautiful one congrats! Don't think I've seen one with pips there but certainly seem to match the dial and hands. Are those original?
That has got to be one of the best Connies I've seen on here for ages, untouched and beautifully mellowed by time. A great find and I'm truly envious...
Thanks guys. I understand it to be completely original. My buddies dad got the Omega line years ago and had it until 2010 or so. As they are winding down, who knows what else may come out of that safe! I also found these:
Stunning - all three are in very nice condition While the monetary value of the 125 is higher than the Constellation, I know which one I prefer!
Dibs on the chronistop if you ever want to sell, its really nice too, not as nice as the Connie but close!
IDK.. Original pie pans have been going through the roof, one like that might reach over two grand here shortly.
Here's another slightly different example. Note the serrated crown - from the information I've received, it was most likely replaced shortly after being retailed. The owner was a pilot, and no doubt had a rough time winding the standard decagonal issue. Original strap and buckle, too. Cordially, Art
