Hi all, I am brand new here and seeking to make a first purchase of a nice watch. I wanted to get your opinion on which you would get and why - between the two that seem to be the standouts for me at the moment... First up is the Omega Speedmaster Schumacher Legend, which the lady loves Next up is the Omega Speedmaster Apollo-Soyuz (Speediorite) with Meteorite dial, which just seems unique with a meteorite face. Your expert opinions would be really helpful. I guess I'm going for a combination of visual appeal, long term value, and reliability.
Speedyorite for sure - Every single piece is different as the dial is meteorite!! The dial is cut from one huge piece of meteorite, the outer dial is blacked, the sub dials would actually be what the dial would look like if it hadn't been blackened. They are limited to 1975 pieces. Several people on here have one, inc me!! The Schumi is not really as desirable!
I'd go for the meteorite too. In fact a my local AD had one, NOS in their window a few weeks ago and I was sorely tempted.
Speedyorite hands down. Nothing cooler than a meteorite on your arm. As DLT222 says only 1975 ever made. A great piece of history.
The meteorite. I love the look more but what is inside as stated above is amazing. Plus in person it is even more amazing. Of course I love NASA and space so that would be an easy choice for me with no buyer remorse. I wish I could find one new
+1 for the Soyuz. The first on my modern watch list. Love the idea of a dial made from a meteorite
Wow, thank you guys all the great feedback. I am definitely getting the Soyuz/Speedyorite based on the overwhelming response!!!
